Prof. Dr. Rainer Freise is one of the most prominent architects of international and German transport law. He not only served as an expert witness at the conferences for the reform of the COTIF Convention but also played an active role in shaping the 1999 reform of German transport law.

Prof. Dr. Rainer Freise is the former Chairman of the Legal Group of the International Union of Railways (UIC).
